Methods Description of the technique of penile block by listing all the practical aspects based on the personal experience of the author and documented from the analysis of the literature.
Results Penile block via the subpubic space allows surgery of the penis in good conditions and with effective postoperative analgesia.
The review of articles reported in Pubmed showed that this technique is safe and easy to implement. Consistently successful anaesthesia is obtained eventually combined with ventral infiltration at the site of incision. Epinephrine solutions should not be used and are contraindicated to avoid ischemic complications.
Respect of maximal posology of anaesthetic are required.
